Do you kno what the difference is between right and wrong? Can you spot someone else committing a wrong doing? Then why can't you tell the difference between someone pretending everything is okay and it actually being okay? Why do we tend to hide our feelings so deep inside that not even we remember if we are okay or not? I think we all do this to shield away the hurt. But how long is too long to shield it? These are all things we ask ourselves on a daily basis and yet we never even bother to answer them. We just keep going about our business like nothing is wrong. Our we wrong to be doing this? I think not. It is easier to hide the hurt than to actually deal with it. Dealing would make up stronger and hiding it would just push it away under the rug. So the next time you are hurting remember that even though hiding it is easier, it only ends up hurting longer than dealing with it in the first place.

From my experience we start to cover up things in early childhood, building protective walls that shield us from a cruel world. Once the walls are built, you forget about them but they affect your whole life. You start to lie to protect yourself from punishment, which is usually severe either mentally or physically by parents who neither understand you or are trying to correct their mistakes in life thru you. Honesty is something that is said but hardly ever incorporated into one's life. But, if you can start by being honest with yourself then you can see the dishonesty in others.
